M&IT editor Paul Harvey caught up with Chris Skeith, chair of the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP), for the latest episode of M&IT Talks.
They talked through BVEP's Strategic Plan of Work for 2022/23, touching on key issues for eventprofs such as sustainability, SIC/SOC codes, and sector recognition from government.
"We need to keep the awareness of the power of the whole events sector and our ability to drive the growth agenda for government," said Skeith.
"The government is not a big business - it's a big business of big businesses. It's a massive organisation of organisations. We've got to keep doing the heavy yards and keep reinforcing the messaging."
