The Meetings Industry Association (mia) has launched a survey into the effects of the Omicron variant on the sector.

And the association is calling on event professionals to take part in the research - and help keep business meetings and events on the government's agenda.

Mia is asking eventprofs to complete a questionnaire that will help understand the current state of the sector and how Plan B has affected bookings and revenue. The results will then be shared with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

Mia chief executive Kerrin MacPhie said: "We have been providing ongoing insight to DCMS on the impact that the pandemic is having on our sector.

"We are keen to provide and up-to-date snapshot of the challenges currently being faced by the sector - particularly in light of last week's government announcement to move to Plan B.

"The survey results will give an insight into the current state of the industry and how Plan B has affected future bookings and revenue generation."

The latest questionnaire is open until midday on Friday 17 December.
