The Meetings Industry Association is encouraging event professionals to contribute to industry research around staffing and operational costs.

The trade body is encouraging event professionals to complete the survey and share it with colleagues and peers to give the most accurate reflection of the current state of the staffing challenges being faced by the sector. The results of the research will be shared with the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

Jane Longhurst, chief executive of the Meetings Industry Association, said: "As part of our ongoing lobbying work, we are compiling some industry intelligence for DCMS examining the current staffing challenges being faced by the business meetings and events sector.

"To ensure we can provide the latest and most accurate reflection of what’s currently happening within the sector, we need your help.

"As always, every response provides a monumental contribution to our intelligence that will be fed directly back to government. So, please do take the time to complete the survey and share it with your colleagues and industry peers to support the collation of responses."

The deadline for taking part is at 12 noon on Friday 29 October.

Jane Longhurst, who is stepping down from her role as chief executive at mia next month, was recently named Personality of the Year at the M&IT Awards. She is set to be replaced as mia chief executive by VisitBritain's Kerrin MacPhie.
