C2events has seen strong growth over the last 18 months with the arrival of 10 new members of staff.
And Mark Saxby, executive director at the Wakefield agency, puts the success down to C2’s investment in the wellbeing of its staff.
“We have seen a strong period of growth in the business over a sustained period which has resulted in the appointments. The additional team members have excellent experience and will add real value to our client service and support teams.
“One of the things we’ve always felt in the industry is that there are very long hours and we wanted to give a work-life balance. We want our staff to enjoy working here and they respond really well to that.”
He added: “We’ve got Mind coming in next week to do two training days on general wellness and mental wellbeing. It’s something becoming more and more prominent. It’s good to help everyone in the organisation and everyone can understand the situation better. We’re giving people an environment they want to work in, that’s good for all parties.”
Last year C2events was nominated in the small business category at the Investors In People Awards, which recognises business that are leaders in how they support their people to do their best work and go home feeling happier, healthier and stronger.
C2 also featured 26th in the Sunday Times Fast Track for Export Growth last year (pictured) and was in the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 in 2018.
During 2019, C2events had 0 per cent staff turnover meaning the appointments are all supplementary to the existing team. Starters range from recent graduates to very experienced team members with several years’ healthcare event industry.
Commenting on the new appointments, C2events founder and executive director Cheryl Clarke said: “We are delighted to have added to the team in this way. As a result of ongoing growth, we are planning further recruitment of five new team members.”
