10-11 Carlton House Terrace
- home of The British Academy for humanities and social sciences – has launched three new double-height event spaces.
Following a £9.6 million development project, supported by £5 million from the
Wolfson Foundation, the Grade I listed building’s lower ground
floor has been repurposed as event space.
Around 100 event professionals attended
the launch, which showcased the new additions designed by Wright & Wright Architects. The new Lecture Room, Wohl Gallery and SHAPE Room are fully accessible and feature contemporary design, branding opportunities and
built-in technology throughout.
Amie Murphy, business development and marketing manager at {10-11} Carlton House Terrace said: “We were thrilled to welcome guests from across the events industry to our launch, showcasing the biggest changes our venue has seen since it opened in 1902. Our diverse selection of event spaces, all equipped with advanced technology, can accommodate an array of different formats. The transformation has allowed us to meet the growing demand for online and hybrid events, as well as heighten the in-person experience. We’re excited to enter this new chapter in our history, as a future forward venue for hosting world-class events.”
The spaces can be booked
individually or combined for exclusive hire and have been installed with new technology systems to enable hybrid and digital events. The removal of physical
barriers between the west and east entrances has created a more open
environment with unobstructed sightlines for in-person events.
At the launch, catering was provided
by the
venue’s in-house
partner Searcys.
