The venue has implemented a range of initiatives to reduce
its environmental footprint.
Efforts include welcoming beehives to the campus, carbon labelling on food menus, including social value in the tendering processes and rainwater harvesting across venues to support with reusable water usage, providing 40 per cent of water for flushing.
Latest figures show that the venue's carbon emissions have
reduced by 12 per cent, putting the organisation ahead of schedule in their goal to reach carbon zero by 2030.
ACC Liverpool has engaged Greengage to encourage event
planners to make sustainable choices by using Greengage’s EVENTsmart carbon
reporting tool to measure the footprint of all events taking place on their
campus.
Adrian Evans, director of sales, conference and business events
at ACC Liverpool, said: “We’re reaffirming our commitment to a greener
future and our recent successes have inspired us to keep pushing the boundaries
of what’s possible in sustainable event management.
“Using Greengage’s carbon measurement tool EVENTsmart to
track the impact of event activities, we can advise our clients and help
implement responsible decision making into the planning, organisation, and
participation in an event. We want to set a new standard for what venues can
accomplish when they embrace a sustainable mindset.”
