Two major Yorkshire-based event venues have united under one brand to offer planners more space.

The Pavilions of Harrogate and the Yorkshire Event Centre announced the merge to become the Great Yorkshire Events Centre, both based on the Great Yorkshire Showground which has marking the start of a new chapter.

The venues which now combine under one brand, are both based on the Great Yorkshire Showground which has The Grounds – a 340 acres of green space, and parking for over 2,000 cars.

Allister Nixon, chief executive of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society said: “The rebrand will link the businesses and the charity closer together, so that clients know that when they book with us, they can fulfil their corporate responsibility and are contributing to a greater good as all profits from our events funds the work of the Society.”

The venues – which have individually become known as The Halls and The Pavilions - are owned by registered charity the Yorkshire Agricultural Society which has also been rebranded to create unity between the businesses.

Richard Moorhouse, events director added: “Bringing the event brands together allows us to market the Great Yorkshire Events Centre as one destination that can cover all events for up to 50,000 people whether that’s an exhibition or a conference, meetings to dinners, awards to product launches, wedding and remembrances.”

As part of the expansion the Great Yorkshire Events Centre plans to build on its ESG (environmental, social & governance) commitments. The work, which is part of a sustainable long-term vision for the Showground, will measure its current biodiversity and carbon capture capacity, as well as its potential to enhance these further. This is one of the Society’s core objectives - to advance and encourage the protection and sustainability of the environment.
