Exhibition Centre Liverpool is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month, marking a decade in which it has hosted more than 500 events, welcomed 2.2 million visitors and generated an estimated £320 million for the Liverpool City Region.

The 8,100 sqm purpose-built venue opened in September 2015 as part of the city’s waterfront events campus, directly connected to ACC Liverpool, M&S Bank Arena and the Pullman Hotel. It was developed to meet growing demand for large-scale exhibitions, trade shows and consumer events, and has since become a cornerstone of Liverpool’s rise as a major international events destination.

Over the past 10 years, the venue has staged a wide range of high-profile events including Comic Con Liverpool, FIFAe, Beyond Van Gogh and Monet, and the Labour Party Conference. In 2023, it was transformed into the press and hospitality hub for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Faye Dyer, chief executive of The ACC Liverpool Group, said: “When Exhibition Centre Liverpool opened in 2015, it was a bold statement about our city’s ambition. The arena and convention centre had already proven Liverpool’s ability to host major events, but demand was growing and the new exhibition space allowed us to scale up, diversify, and compete internationally. Ten years on, the results speak for themselves: millions of visitors, hundreds of events, and hundreds of millions in economic impact. It shows how far Liverpool has come, and how much further we can go.”

The wider Liverpool events campus has now staged around 4,500 events since 2008, attracted more than 8.3 million visitors and delivered over £2.1 billion in economic benefit.

As it enters its second decade, The ACC Liverpool Group said its focus will be on strengthening Liverpool’s international reach, driving sustainability and innovation, and ensuring the campus continues to deliver long-term community and economic impact.
