TV and radio presenter Vernon Kay has been announced as the host of this year’s M&IT Awards.

The Bolton-born broadcaster, game show royalty and all-round national treasure will be hosting the biggest night of the event industry year, taking place at Grosvenor House on Friday 19 September.

With his unmistakable charm, razor-sharp wit and legendary presenting chops, Kay is set to add showbiz glamour to the must-attend event of the year. From T4 to Top of the Pops, Family Fortunes to Million Dollar Mind Game, he’s lit up screens - and stages - for more than two decades.

Paul Harvey, editor of M&IT, said: “We're thrilled that Vernon Kay will preside over this year’s M&IT Awards. He's a national treasure!

“The M&IT Awards are the Oscars of the events industry, so it’s only right that we’ve got one of the UK’s most experienced and versatile broadcasters as our host.

“The M&IT Awards are just around the corner and tickets are flying out the door - be sure to reserve your space, so you don’t miss out on the industry’s most glamorous evening.”

Vernon Kay is one of the most experienced and versatile broadcasters in the UK, with a career spanning over 20 years across live entertainment, magazine shows, radio and sports broadcasting.

Having been spotted by a model scout at the BBC’s 'Clothes Show Live', Kay began a successful modelling career before moving into TV in 2000 with a regular presenting opportunity on Channel 4’s hugely popular show T4.

His love of music led Kay to join Radio 1 in 2006 presenting his weekend show until he left the station in 2012. He then fronted his own mid-morning show on the re-launched Radio X from 2015 until 2017.

Kay has also hosted a number of high-profile entertainment shows across numerous channels. His portfolio includes; All Star Family Fortunes, Splash!, 1000 Heartbeats, Beat The Star and Game Of Talents for ITV1 – Just The Two Of Us, The World’s Greatest Elvis and Comic Relief for BBC1 – and Girls & Boys and Home For The Holidays for Channel 4.

Kay has also successfully transferred his passion for sport to the screen, having co-presented the live Formula E & NFL coverage for Channel 4, the Golf Sixes event, and The Hero Challenge Golf Series.

He currently presents on Radio 2, doing the Mid-Morning show and Dance Sounds of the 90s – and is host of M&S Dress The Nation on ITV1. In 2023, Kay raised more than £6,000,000 for Children In Need, by running an Ultra-Ultramarathon from Leicester to Bolton.
