Worldspan has been awarded the We invest in people platinum accreditation.

The accreditation is the highest level that Investors in People grants and is only held by two per cent of organisations.

“In order to achieve platinum accreditation from our current gold standard, we had to really drill down further into our policies and practices. These included job development, as well as our communication and the embedding of our values, vision and objectives,” Sophie Morris, managing director of Worldspan, told M&IT.

“Our team were responsible for creating our company values. Meaning that they have a high buy-in to the values, which very much influences their positive behaviour and performance.

"We also have a high level of involvement and engagement of our respective teams in the decision making processes of the company; we see this as a driver of a culture of continuous improvement & innovation which we see as a critical success factor for any creative service business

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in people, said: “We’d like to congratulate Worldspan. Platinum accreditation on We Invest in people is a remarkable effort for any organisation, and places Worldspan in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”

Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support, and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results.

Worldspan previously held the gold accreditation continuously since it’s first-ever assessment in 2013.

"We want all our team to feel and say that Worldspan is a great place to work," added Morris.

"Our IIP insights report highlighted that there is a very high level of trust in the leadership of the company and indeed across the company as a whole there is a culture of trust. That is very much at the cornerstone of the business."
