Juliet Price is leaving beam at the end of May after 11 years in
her post as executive consultant.
Price served as chair of the
association in 2011, then known as the Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA), before becoming executive consultant in 2013.
Julie Shorrock, chair of beam, said: “Juliet
has seen great change in the association. She has played a key role in the
advancement of beam, helping create a sustainable future for us in the sector
and keeping the profile of the association high with our members, sponsors and
collaborative partners. Juliet has always put the needs of members first, acted
as a listening ear and offered many a sage piece of advice to board members over
the years and I, as do all board members past as well as those present, thank
her for her dedication and support.”
Price will remain allied to beam assisting
with upcoming beam activities at The Meetings Show at ExCeL on 18-19
June and at the Annual Forum on 27-28 June.
Juliet Price said: “As someone whose
working life has been entrenched in hospitality and events, it's been a
privilege to have been involved in the association through the years, as a
member, as chair and as a management consultant. I've met amazing people and shared wonderful
experiences - even the bad times were good! With the transformation from HBAA
alongside the expanded and fully representative board, it's clear that beam is
on an upward trajectory, with a broader membership and invigorated leadership
team. I'm looking forward to staying
connected and seeing beam and its members thrive.”
Shorrock added: “With any era ending, a new
one begins, and beam has an exciting 2024 and 2025 ahead. I am delighted to
announce that Caroline Medcalf, director of events at XSEM, will be joining the
board and that Linden Beattie, general manager at Down Hall, has taken the
reigns as finance director from the outgoing Simon Richards who I give a
heartfelt thanks to, plus we have some exciting new appointments to announce on
the horizon.”
