The
Association of Event Organisers (AEO) has promoted Lauren Petchell to head of projects (formerly project manager) and Emily Weall
to marketing manager (formerly senior marketing executive), reflecting its commitment to recognising and nurturing talent within its team.
Petchell’s
role recognises her contributions to the organisation’s sustainability journey and the
numerous working groups she facilitates.
Chris
Skeith OBE, chief executive of AEO and Petchell’s line report, said:
"Lauren has truly excelled in her role here at AEO. Her leadership and dedication
have been nothing short of outstanding. She’s built fantastic relationships
with our members, and it’s clear in the way our working groups have thrived
since she joined. Lauren is handling more groups than we’ve ever seen, leading
to a noticeable boost in member engagement. Her efforts in advancing our
sustainability initiatives have been remarkable, and she absolutely deserves
this new role."
In her new role, Weall will develop and execute marketing plans to promote AEO initiatives to
members, partners, and sponsors. She will also lead event marketing efforts,
manage content across various channels, and assess data to unpack
opportunities.

vital part of our team, consistently pushing the boundaries of creativity and
innovation in our marketing efforts. She’s has become a central point of
contact to the events team, takes ownership of any given project and is
incredibly passionate about serving the members. Her promotion is a testament

this new role."
