Danielle Bounds has stepped down as deputy chair at ICCA UK
& Ireland chapter after three years, with the EICC’s Lyndsey Rafferty replacing
her in the role.
Bounds is departing the deputy chair role as a result of
leaving her position at ICC Wales.
Writing on Linkedin, Bounds said: “For the last three years
I have had the absolute pleasure of being the ICCA UK
& Ireland deputy chair alongside the wonderful Suzanne
Singleton who is chair and Julie Watterston
who is secretariat.
“In the last three years we have grown the membership and engagement across the
chapter. Delivered three outstanding conferences each year achieving record
numbers. We have supported members and provided epic content and education. Our
vision was not just to talk the talk but walk the walk.
“Thank you to Suzanne, Julie , the committee and the entire chapter for your
support, trust and smiles over the last three years.”
Rafferty, senior association manager at the EICC, is taking
on the deputy chair position on an interim basis until the formal elections
next spring.
She said: “Danielle has been a wonderful chapter lead and we
have benefited greatly from her knowledge, passion and kindness throughout her
many years on the exec committee. On a personal level, I'm incredibly lucky to
have found a mentor, supporter and friend in Danielle and I cannot thank her
enough for the guidance she has shared with me. I know that as a chapter, and
as a friend, we will continue to have Danielle's backing as she moves on to her
next challenge.
“I will endeavour to continue Danielle's great work, and
support our chapter chair Suzanne to
deliver for our chapter, by exceeding expectations and creating a true sense of
community alongside ICCA. What better way to deliver this than through our next
Annual Conference in Edinburgh!”
Bounds paid tribute to Rafferty, saying: “Lyndsey
has sat on the ICCA committee for many years and has been a huge asset to the
chapter from her legendary first timer sessions to her willingness to support
in any way required. She is an absolute delight and I know that she will be a
great support to Suzanne and Julie.”
