The Alliance of Independent Event Agencies (AIEA) is kicking off the New Year with a fresh wave of leadership.

Sabine Edwards, managing director of Pendleton Events Ltd, based in Cambridge, has been appointed as the new Chair of the AIEA. Edwards, who has served as vice chair for the past two years, takes over from Chris Walls of Events2 Ltd.

In addition to Edwards appointment, Aimee Nicholas, director at Clearcut Venues, has been named the interim vice chair.

With more than 100 member agencies now part of the AIEA, the new leadership team is focused on enhancing the voice of small to medium-sized businesses in the event industry.

Edwards commented, “I’m looking forward to what will no doubt be an exciting and challenging two years. Helping to grow the voice of the Alliance through events like the Industry Great Debate is something I am particularly passionate about.

“We remain committed to professional development and will build on the success of the Teach and Train series. Accountability will also remain a key focus as we strive to ensure that our members uphold the highest standards in the industry."
