The
Sustainable Events Course is returning for its fifth edition
this month. And following feedback from alumni, the course will run alongside a
new advanced version, aimed at those further along the sustainability path.
Curated by isla, The Sustainable Events Course is
designed for event professionals just starting their journey into sustainable
events, covering broad topics such as carbon offsetting, the impact of food and
beverages, supply chain engagement, and the circular economy.
Following feedback from our alumni, Northstar is also
launching an advanced version of the course, aptly called The
Advanced Sustainable Events Course. As the title suggests, it’s
designed for those with at least an intermediate understanding of sustainable
events e.g. alumni from the introductory course as it goes much more in
depth into some of the more complex topics such as accreditations,
certifications & standards, communicating sustainability, and legislation
& regulations.
Both courses are presented by Anna Abdelnoor, founder of
isla, with anecdotes on the introductory course provided by Andy King, co-founder of Inward Point. All students on both
courses will also receive exclusive complimentary six-month access to TRACE by isla, which they can use to
measure one event of their choice with.
The courses begin on 25 September, with six modules to
complete – a new one is released every Wednesday at 10am and students will have
access to the modules, as well as bonus case studies and accompanying readings
for approximately 10 weeks, so they can fit the course around their schedule.
At the end of the six weeks, Abdelnoor will host a live
Q&A, one for each course. Both courses are CPD accredited and all students
will receive a certificate of completion at the end.
Both courses cost £695 + VAT pp and there are discounted
rates for group bookings, isla members, freelancers, and charities/non-profits.
