MCI UK has strengthened its UK presence with a strategic merger with London-based events and communications agency Pure Communications Group.
This partnership follows MCI UK’s recent merger with Meet & Potato, which extended the agency’s reach into the north. With the addition of Pure, MCI UK strengthens its presence and agility in the capital, and in the UK, with new talent and capabilities in London and Liverpool.
The merger aims to support growth in professional services and tech, and position MCI UK as a more consultative, insight-led partner.
MCI UK is led by Charlee Gough, managing director, supported by a leadership team that brings a blend of creative, strategic and operational expertise. Jon Kelly, client experience officer, focuses on strategic and creative growth, while Karen Clarkson, director of strategy and operations, leads the development of bold, long-term client models – particularly for regulated industries. Nicole Leida, associations director, drives community engagement and consultative growth for association clients.
Charlee Gough, MD of MCI UK, said: “We are reimagining how we partner with clients - with new and existing talent, expanded capabilities, and a stronger presence across the UK. We are building a creative and consultancy-led engagement marketing agency to help our clients solve their audience challenges. We’re incredibly excited to welcome the Pure Communications Group team to MCI. This merger represents more than just growth - it’s a meaningful step forward in our ability to offer richer, deeper and more integrated experiences for our clients.”
Charlotte Gentry, founder and CEO of Pure Communications Group, said: “This merger marks a defining moment in Pure’s journey. What began as a boutique agency built on strategic thinking and brilliant execution is now evolving into something even more powerful. MCI’s global reach and shared values give us the platform to do more - for our clients, our people, and the industry we’re proud to help shape.”
Writing on Linkedin, Gentry added: "I have been growing Pure for over 20 years and have built a phenomenal team and a renowned brand. It is now time for a global business to give us the power to grow and expand. I have met some enormously inspiring and dynamic people in the events and marketing sector during my entrepreneurial journey and thank many for all the support you have given me, through times of exhilaration and times of hardship. Pure under the umbrella of MCI Group will continue to create and deliver extraordinary experiences with greater resource, buying power and global reach for our clients."
Janine Hart, MD of Pure Communications Group, added: “Merging with MCI is an energising and exciting step for everyone at Pure. It opens up global opportunities for our team and enables us to expand our offering, while staying true to the personal service and creative excellence our clients know and trust. Together, we’re ready to push boundaries and explore bold new directions.”
Sebastian Tondeur, CEO of mci group, concluded: “We’re focused on delivering value to clients and building a platform for long-term, sustainable growth. This is just the beginning.”
