London-based destination management company Unique DMC UK has
partnered with Canadian representation company EMA Marketing to help drive more meetings
business to the UK from Canada.
The new partnership will give Canadian and international
meeting, incentive, conference, and event planners’ access to services across the
UK, using Unique DMC’s expertise. The partners said they would focus on driving
business to all parts of England, Scotland and Wales.
The USA was the top inbound international market for UK
business events in 2024. Overall, the USA generated a record 5.6 million visits
to the UK with total expenditure of £7.3 billion.
By contrast, only 944,000 visits to the UK in 2024 were from
Canada, with total expenditure of £890 million. Nevertheless, Canadian's have positive perceptions of the UK, ranking it fourth overall among 50 nations in the 2025 Anholt Nation Brands Index, and fourth for historic buildings and contemporary culture, according to research by VisitBritain.
Christian Hobbs, managing director of Unique DMC UK, said the
partnership offered ‘a unique opportunity’ to drive more business from Canada
and North America into the UK.
“Partnering with EMA Marketing marks an exciting new chapter
for Unique DMC UK. Together we look forward to delivering unforgettable
experiences across the United Kingdom for Canadian and international planners
seeking fresh, high impact events.”
